for Matt Holliday and Kolten Wong
Sure, Matt Holliday is an established slugger, but he hasn't faced the pitching in the best division in baseball, the AL East, so he's not as good as he seems. The Cardinals don't have room for Wong, who is blockd by Carpenter and Freese. Plus, the Cards get a top 100 prospect and two upside pitchers back. And Xavier Avery has good speed and surprising pop.
