Jacob is not Sayid. Jacob did forsee his death. This is why he visited everyone before the crash. He had to die.
The not had the numbers with their names to a corresponding number. This is the REAL reason why they had to get back to the island to save it from the Black guy. This is also why it was important for Sayid to live to make sure what Jacob needed was to work.
Also remember the black dust they put around themselves? The house had the same dust around it So what is with that?
