You feel your friends represent an accurate view of the country's fans? Every fan base tries to come up with nicknames. As I said, players themselves are probably the most guilty of it. Guaranteed the Chief players come up with one for Mahomes.
I personally make up my own silly nicknames for my own enjoyment only. How many Giants fans do you think call Odell Beckham by his actual name and not a nickname?
