Absolutely not: it's "Groundhog Day" with aliens. But Cruise is always good, the effects are decent, and the time loop provides humor. Plot holes the size of "Godzilla" but who cares. It won't blow you away but it's an enjoyable 2 hours.

Perhaps original might not have been the best descriptor, but it was a very fresh movie. I favored it over the X-Men movie as far as entertainment.
