Not to get too personal (I'm not that drunk yet lol) but that song has always been about my dad to me because like in the song I've never know him either but I'm fine with it and still "alive." They asked if there was a song I'd like to do and that one popped into my head immediately. Plus you can sing Eddie Vedder if you're drunk and don't have to worry too much about being off key lol.

Wow man, sorry to hear that but glad you have come to terms with that. I am sure that song has a similar impact for many people because that is exactly what it is about.
For me it just signifies perseverance through everything. As long as your are alive, keep going and never give up.
