Instead of having someone come in (like say, Cena) to cause a DQ and put Triple Haitch in the match, they have him go over the WWE Champ and the #1 Contender clean a week after they built up Orton with his biggest win ever.
Then, to top that off, they completely bury their "#1" contender by having him lose not one, but two handicap matches in one night.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about earlier. Bury 3 guys to build Hun-Tor.
The audience was weird, too. That was the most pro-Hun-Tor/anti-Cena crowd I can remember. Cena's gotten buried audience-wise the last two weeks, which I understand (18+ males booing because their girlfriends/wives/daughters cheer for him...) but I don't get why people are cheering for Hun-Tor. He's been shoved in their faces for more than a decade.
