The salary cap was $208 million when we signed MVS. It’s now $255 million, so obviously $13 million for MVS is now inflated to $15 million.
The Chiefs are paying less than $10 million overall for their entire WR room currently, which is undoubtedly one of if not the the least in the league. I don’t see why another MVS contract is bad.
The Chiefs went cheap last year and look at what it got us? Paying a mid level contract to a WR that actually forces teams to account for him is worth it.
Also keep in mind that Kelce is declining. Last year was the first year it looked like he needed to be load managed for a game. That’s a major part of this.
