It's all a matter of opinion and personal taste, but I've read a lot of fantasy, and I'd rate that series of books somewhere down toward the bottom of the pile, along with the Shannara series from Terry Brooks. There's a lot better fantasy out there, particularly in the last decade to fifteen years. In my opinion of course...
