I liked the stiffness of the kydex for safety as well. I also went with the horsehide, and would highly recommend it. It's pretty soft, and much thinner than the cowhide, which to me means more comfortable to wear. A buddy bought the cowhide, and it took him almost a month of daily wear to get it broken in and conforming to his body. Mine took two days. At first I was worried that the horsehide would be too thin to prevent the kydex from jabbing me, but I don't even notice it.
The only think I don't like about mine are the kydex clips. My next IWB will also be a Theiss, the only difference is that I will go with metal clips. The kydex clips are a pain in the ass to pull off with the way the hook on your belt.
