Yeah, its a family thing. It was my grandfathers favorite and my fathers, so when they had a birthday we ate that, and then it became mine and my brothers favorite. I guess some family memories tied to it or something, plus I love the flavors.

My advise, monitor Costco, and when their Vienna Beef [of Chicago hot dog fame] corned beef hits the chill chests, buy one. Then grab some cabbage and red potatoes on sale in early march. Throw it all in a pressure cooker per instruction [either from Vienna or the pressure cooker manufacturer].
Wonderful, and a damn sight from that soggy stewed mess you get in a regular stew pot.
