The problem was defense, like it or not. If they are on the field for 40 plus game minutes, it's also because they couldn't do their job and force the Ravens to punt. We showed some flashes, and DJ came up huge, but nobody expected them to come out with an aerial assault from hell like they did. Flacco showed he's got game. Ravens will be tough this year for anyone who plays them.
Let me respond to the 2nd part of your post first. The defense IMO, played better than you give them credit. They will get better as they learn more, but as you mentioned they were not prepared. Flacco will not have a game as good as this the rest of the season. As i said before, they are going to ask him to do too much, and he cannot. Against a better team, they lose this game because of Flacco, not win in spite of him.

Next. At first all the fans could do is talk smack, but as the game went on, they were VERY impressed by the defense, at how we were getting pressure. They commented on the soft zone, but as the game went on, opinions changed. they repeated called LJ washed up, and majority didn't know who D-Bowe was, and I told them, they soon will. (I was not completely right). They pissed all over Brodie before the game started, and I told them if he has time, he is a serviceable QB, to which they laughed. By th end of the game, one of them actually came up to me and said, they were wrong. Wished us good luck, told me that if we played like that all season, we would win some games, to which i thanked him and agreed.

They were very shocked at how we were able to move the ball against their vaunted defense. (Yea 150+ yards isn't much, but we DID move the ball in the 3rd and 4th quarters once we made adjustments). They were expecting a BLOWOUT, and they were severly sweating from the 2nd quarter throughout the rest of the game.

The local media gave us some credit saying how well prepared we looked and that we were a different team then what was expected.

Let me know if there are any other q's, i should probably get some work done now..
