His body language didn't show it, but Bell was resistant to the role he fit best - defensive stopper/off-ball player.
Here's an example: He was told at halftime of the Colorado State game that HE was the key to coming back, if he committed to disrupting on the defensive end and would stop letting a slow guy who can't do anything but shoot make him look bad.
He pouted and said something about needing more shots. Thus he didn't play.
From what I've heard - and it's third-hand, I haven't talked to any coaches about this - Bell was the type of kid that gives transfers a bad rap. Set in habits, didn't adjust to his role with more talented teammates and opponents.
Bello is the opposite, apparently.
