MU moving conferences was not to preserve their place in the BCS. It was because they couldn't win in the conf and they chose to show no loyalty to their brethren of 100 years.
WVU is in an obvious perilous situation regarding their conferences BCS status. A conference like the Big East cannot move forward in football when losing teams like Pitt and Syracuse.
The Big 12 can obviously be just fine by losing teams like MU and Texas A&M. That is why their is no problem with the Big 12 teams pitching in for a team that wants to compete at the highest level of football.
