Cain had a terrible April (5 games), a great July (18 games), an awful August (26 games) and a great September (12 games).
He was Jekyll and Hyde all season. That's frustrating, but if he can be the hitter he was once he returned from injury (.275/.325/.440 - even with the slump in August) while playing great defense in CF, he's a plus player.
As for his injury history... the guy had injury problems all season this year, but in the 8 years he has been a professional baseball player, he's been generally healthy. Too early to say this year indicates his ability to stay healthy or not.
Give him a full offsesaon to get his legs healthy, and I think we see a much more healthy guy next season (which probably translates into better defense and a little better play at the plate).
