This is hilarious.

The Huard brothers are the Bizarro Mannings: three brothers — Damon, Brock, and Luke — who eached played quarterback for their strong, God-fearing father, Mike Huard of Puyallup High School. Like Peyton and Eli, Damon and Brock both had successful college careers. Unlike Peyton and Eli, Damon and Brock never managed to hold onto a starting job in the NFL.

And then’s there Luke Huard, who struggled at North Carolina with injuries and coaching changes, never played in the pros, and now is an assistant coach at Illinois State. (Somewhere in an office in downtown
Manhattan, Cooper Manning is nodding.)

In any event, Damon may serve as the 49ers’
third quarterback this year if he can beat out Ball State’s Nate Davis. If not, he may start preparing for his new coaching career.

So is this.

Meet the one guy in Arizona who was probably disappointed to see the Cardinals re-sign Kurt Warner. That
move sent Leinart back to the bench, where he has resided since his not-half-bad rookie season of 2006. Although
Leinart had just seen the keys to the Cardinals offense yanked out of his hands, he assured Kent Somers
of the Arizona Republic that he would not ask for a trade.

Instead, he’ll collect his reported $1.11 million 2009 salary and be content to play in preseason and blowout games, all while spending the coldest part of the year in
sunny Phoenix. You know what? Maybe he wasn’t disappointed when Warner came back.
