quantity over quality
it doesn't seem to matter what you make just how much you make. So don't make good stuff just make the cheapest junk you can.
leather bracers takes 2 leather,1leather strip
studded helmet(i think) takes 1 leather and 2 leather strips
Helmet value is 60 versus bracers which are 25 but i just make whatever have have left.
daggers are cheap
i also turn around and enchant all the daggers and crap i make with petty soul enchants to level up that.
If you need you can enchant daggers with soul capture and then switch weapons and save yourself charges. Or you really want to get picky can enchant a bunch of cheap stuff with smithing,alchemy and merchant price bonuses. It's on 1-3% with petty soul enchants but you can improve skill by 10% or so.
