I am paraphrasing something I heard today on the radio but it was something like this.
When asked once who the better ballplayer was between DiMaggio and Musial, Bill James responded " Its ridiculous anyone would even think DiMaggio is even in the same league as Musial".
The question was spawned by DiMAggio's insistence that anytime he was introduced at a function it was as "The Greatest Living Ballplayer".
