He'd be a ring dog, but I'm not going to show him. He's on a limited registration from my breeder unless I can demonstrate that I'm taking the necessary steps to ensure a successful show career. Frankly, that's a lot of work and I just won't have the time for it. I may take him to some local shows just for grins, but on a limited registration, he can't go to a true 'points' show.

Like I said - I was just being a snob. My 2 boys are from field lines and I decided I wanted a big ol' blocky one as well. You just can't find a more regal looking dog than one of those big 'field and stream' looking black labs.

Both his parents have their Champion title but his dad also has a WC (working certificate). So he should have plenty of drive. And if I wanted to put him in the ring, I could. But my dogs have it pretty easy - just layin' on the couch and fetching stuff as they please.
