I think they played in Chicago in route to the 2003 National Championship and also played in STL. KU fans generally are well represented in the tourney, so this can only help.

That only works if U of Ill isn't the 7 seed in KU's region, and I saw a couple of bracket projections over the weekend showing the Illini as the #7 seed in KU's region (with KU a 2 seed).
