Chickenshit. Bob Dole had a RIF 3 years ago. Bob Dole has fired a lot of people over the years, but every one of them earned it. It was tough to look at the budget, make the decision and then choose who to let go. It was even tougher to sit across the table from the employee who was being cut loose and tell them that they were out of a job.
But the ability to make those kind of business decisions is one of the reasons you are put in a leadership position in the first place.
If Bob Dole had an employee entrusted to lead a team pull a chickenshit stunt like that, the chickenshit who pulled the stunt would be the one looking for another job (and the resulting budget would be in even better shape going forward).
