All you're missing is a lot of great hockey.
re: back to back games... changing the format probably wouldn't change the number of back to back games much, and if it did, the quality of hockey would suffer. The Blackhawks and Bruins played a total of 4 OTs in the first two games of the finals last year, had a combined 5 days off between the two games, and they were still freakin' exhausted in game 3.
If anything, they should shorten the regular season... that would be marginally less blasphemous.
