Titans didn't really 'let him walk' per se ... Titans made him a good offer, but he chose TB instead. But I think there were multiple things that lead to that decision.
1) Speculation is that Verner may have felt a little disrespected since last camp the Titans put him in a competition with Tommie Campbell (who is now cut), and it appeared the coaching staff did all they could to give Tommie the job (although that was a different staff)
2) I think the coaches over estimated what our young corners could do. Everyone was high on Sensabaugh and Blidi-Wreh, so they probably weren't
that concerned about losing Verner (until camp started and they didn't look so good anymore)
3) Verner wasn't a great scheme fit. We will probably be playing more man, and Vern was a better zone type player. Smallish and slower, but very smart and just had a great knack for putting himself in the right position and diagnosing plays
