He did...well exactly what he's done for us so far.
He's not a tall, statuesque pocket passer that's going to do much of anything sexy to win football games. He's going to go out there and try to win ugly. Is that my preferred approach? Nah, not really. I like Geno and I like Tyler Bray as well.
But it's won games in this league for a very long time. It got Gannon deified here in KC. It made Tarkenton a HOFer. It got Alex Smith within an eyelash of a Super Bowl.
To say it 'can't' happen here is just foolish. The odds strongly suggest it won't happen here, but anyone that says it can't is just being a mindless ideologue.

There's just probably more things that need to go right and more quality levels of performance from those around him required to achieve that kind of success, especially on a consistent level. It's not a right or wrong thing, it's a "Here's our limitations, how do we deal with it?" thing.

Thanks for your input. My opinion is the NFL is now a passing league and in order to win you have to get "chunks" of yards so that is one of the biggest reasons why I don't think Alex will ever win one.
Maybe my stance will change in a month when we face Peyton.
