possibly, I'm not sure, the iphone never really addressed some of its biggest failings... (multitasking???)

EDIT: I'm sure they will be better, but I imagine only marginally so... and not as functional as other tablet devices available --- just like the new Android 2.1 phones are more usable than the Iphone
