After I got cut, things got pretty crazy. I started getting calls from a lot of teams to fly up for physicals and workouts. None of these were any fun because it was like doing pro-day workouts all over again. I would get a phone call at six in the morning and then I would fly out around noon that same day and go do workouts.

I had workouts with the Cincinnati Bengals, the Seattle Seahawks, the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons all in a very short time span. Unfortunately none of those teams worked out. The big problem most teams had with me was with my physical. I had a stress fracture in my back and my ankle that most teams were concerned about.

So I’m sitting around for a couple of days doing nothing when I got a call from Green Bay. They flew me up, and I worked out. Initially they weren’t going to offer me anything because of my back. My agent talked to them and worked out a contract with specific conditions in regards to my injuries and the league minimum payment. If you ask me, it was really weird.

I signed with Green Bay two days before their first preseason game of the season. The first day I got there they handed me a full playbook and wanted me to learn it before the game. Nobody tried to help me with the playbook, and they had a lot of injuries on the team at the time. I was basically filling in for those guys for the time being. I knew what was going on, and I knew my time in Green Bay was limited, so I wanted to give it my best and make the most of it. I had to make as much money as I could while they were giving it to me.

After we played the Arizona Cardinals in preseason, I got cut again. I wasn’t getting much playing time, so I saw it coming.
