Geno Smith is a legit stud. Big time.
IMO, he's as good as I've seen at this level. All the tools, the attitude, the smarts, the leadership, the drive, everything. He exudes confidence. He nails the 50 yard + bombs with uncanny accuracy. He is a pocket presence prodigy.
Does that mean that he's a guaranteed Hall of Famer? No, but given the right circumstances, he's got a chance to be very good at the next level at minimum.
Add to that that the Chiefs appear to be flogging themselves into a quickening death spiral that will finally allow them to get a chance at someone like Smith. And, remarkably, the screws are getting put to the thumbs of the Pioli despotic, meglomaniacal rule. He's a fraud and it's now official in the eyes of the press as well as the fans. He duped the ownership with himself, his hand picked QB and his never ending parade of coaching tree lackeys who have never accomplished anything outside of their association with Tom Brady.
The implosion we currently are witnessing is the perfect storm of events that is going to finally lead the team and it's fans to something that we haven't seen in the past 29 years - a first round quarterback, and it has the chance to be one who appears to be, in all facets, a true franchise level guy.
I don't want Geno Smith to be the Chiefs pick because he's a first round quarterback. I want Geno Smith to be the Chiefs pick because he's THE quarterback.
