I'm old school. Each conference to have four divisions, with the division winners in the playoffs, and the conference winner to play the Super Bowl. We still get Denver, SD and Oakland, the way it should be, in the Western Conference. North, South, East, and West Divisions. 32 teams means four per division.
Nothing simpler than that, having the pride of the division title back in the hands of the winning community. If you want more money, make it a 17 game season after one fewer game of low-attendence preseason. Done!
