Back in early and mid-70's they would show a previously released Bond movie on TV on a Sunday night a couple of times per year. It was a Major Television Event. You'd plan to watch it all week, and everyone would be talking about it at the next day at school. You literally had no other way to see an older movie back before VCRs and cable became commonplace, other than waiting for them to be shown on TV by one of the 3 networks.
