I haven't seen anyone say Alex is the biggest issue or the only issue. What I have seen is people saying he's part of the equation, along with the line, the injuries and the playcalling. And apparently it's okay to mention the injuries and the playcalling. And to run down Dwayne Bowe or any other skill player on the team. But any mention of Alex Smith is off limits. Instantaneous response. It's like there's a batsignal or something. Maybe a loud klaxon sounding in basements all over SF. Weee-ooohhh. And lo the defenders come swarming out of the woodwork, incensed at our audacity, that we would actually expect more from him.
