This is classic. It is a perfect example of the failure this franchise, and fan base, have brought upon themselves. In the fear of failure, they settle for average. They don't look at who can actually win a SB, it's about who is less likely to lose.
Attempting to build a team by building up an amazing roster and sticking an average QB in it is as reckless, not to mention as unlikely to work, as it is to risk taking a QB with high upside and some down side. It's more in fact. In today's NFL, attempting to win with a game manager is just attempting to swim upstream. Yet we still have people screaming to do it.
