So he spent 1 season working with a guy that Scott Pioli hates in Todd Haley and under Pioli's father in-law.

That makes him friends with Pioli? It was a stopover job for him before he went to the Steelers, an organization that does nothing like the Patriots.

He was in the Jets organization (and the Ravens before that), but he made his bones with the Steelers. That attenuates his connections with Parcells to some degree and again he never worked with Pioli. I just don't see the connection there.
