Arguing that the college attended for 1 season is the sole influence on a player’s entire career is idiotic, but I won’t get into an argument about KU players in the MU thread.
But do you think Kyle Wiltjer would have picked Kentucky if he had it to do over?
As for your first point, here are some of the guys who saw their stock slip even with the help of the mighty Kentucky program:
- Daniel Orton – 5-star recruit, booted after hardly playing and went #29 (now in the D-League).
- Terrence Jones – #8 recruit, stayed 2 years and ended up the 18th pick.
- Marquis Teague – #5 recruit, ended up 29th pick and averaged 8 mins per game in the NBA.
- Doron Lamb – McDAA, turned into the #42 pick
- Alex Poythress – #8 recruit, skipped a weak draft to return for his sophomore year fighting for minutes on a loaded team.
