Quite a bit of this I disagree with. And no, I don't think The Newsroom is the greatest show on television, now or anytime since. I do think that many parts of it are well done. I don't think a show (or it's writers) have to pander to an audience like SO many others. I shared this opening scene, not for its politics, but for its impressiveness.
GoT has got to be one of the most overrated shows ever. It's hailed as this triumph of storytelling and character evolution, but IMO it continues to fall flat. I realize that this, too, is subjective; however, I fail to see the merit in comparing the two when it's like comparing apples and oranges, save for the "HBO" at the beginning.
