Dave Matter wrote an article suggesting that Daniel hurt his thumb and played injured during the 2nd half of the year. I didn't recall it being hurt in the Oklahoma game.

I just remember him getting up with that wide-eyed look after getting detonated midway through the 2nd quarter.

EDIT: According to the MU Trainer, the thumb injury was in the Big 12 Title Game.
