It certainly looks that way. I don't like losing his potential but it was just potential. He never did a single thing to contribute to 1 win for the major league team. The same certainly can't be said for the guys we got, who just happened to make our biggest weakness much, much stronger.
DeBerg makes the point all the time. Even when we as fans have been happy and excited about a player the wins and loses are all that counts in the end and that hasn't improved. There's no reason not to believe wins won't increase after the pitching we've picked up unless you're just being obtuse. I for one am glad to see them actually make an effort to win now instead of always hoping prospects will pan out... which never happens overnight anyway in baseball. (unless you're Mike Trout)
