My best friend is a surgical nurse who is trained for operations involving the da Vinci robot. He told me that if given the choice, he would have a human operating on him than the robot. He said that people think the robot will be so much better, but in reality it just gets in the way of the surgeon. There are a lot of orthoscopic surgical techniques now, but you really don't need, let alone want, a robot to do them.
