He has a good arm...and it should be a lot better. I can't see how he's getting his legs into those deep balls at all.
I wonder if maybe he isn't a little too impressed with his touch passes. Those were 'touch' mechanics on a throw that needed to be driven downfield.
It's just an odd thing for a guy with those skills to be doing. His throwing motion is almost parasitic in nature.
