If you read the book War Room, you will note that Daboll was passed over by Belichick for the OC role for McDaniels (who was Daboll's junior), which pissed Daboll off and caused him to move on from the Patriots.
Four failed stints later, he's crawling back. I guess more proof that BB knows what he's doing...
