The plus side of giving Lebron what he wants is that you get Lebron. The downside is that Lebron is iffy with personnel. He's the one who loved Norris Cole and Nappier, and basically built the first Cleveland team with guys he wanted.
I'm not like rust... I don't think the Cavs can trade for Love without Wiggins. I just hate making that kind of trade without getting a true rim protector. Like I've said before, there's no doubt that Love is better than Wiggins by a mile. 1) I'm not a big fan at all of loading a team with 3 max contracts, especially when Lebron is at an age when you want to start conserving his legs; 2) Wiggins gets you a probably starter for $5.5M, which means you are saving probably about $15M by not making this trade. That $15M can be sunk on a damn good player. So it's not Wiggins for Love straight up. It's Wiggins + some $15M player to be named later; 3) Love doesn't solve the Cavs' massive defensive problem, and trading away all our picks and 3 guys soaking up our cap makes that problem really hard to solve.
I get why people like the deal. I'm not at all crazy about it. If Dieng is thrown in, I'm more okay with it. If Philly throws in a center, then of course I'm ecstatic about it.
