first try the update per Bearcat and if that doesn't work then try the loochy method
don't forget to export bookmarks AND don't forget to choose to delete all your personal setting when you uninstall. I might even delete the firefox folder just for good measurement. Firefox is a quick download/install ... no reason to not just shred it and start over.
The real bummer would be if the corruption isn't with the browser software, it's just where you are 'seeing' it the results.
