I still don't see why you would want to trade our prospects for something at the deadline when the team is as flawed as this one. Teams with no power and no speed require 2-3 hits each inning just to score a damned run. That's too much to ask against elite pitching staffs.
There wasn't any power available at the deadline, and the Rockies weren't really sellers. It would have been nice for us to go after Peavy considering that the Bo Sox gave up Pete Kozma for him (seriously, compare Kozma's '12 surge to Iglesias and their MiL splits).
The mistakes that doomed this team were made a few years ago: not going after shortstops like Jed Lowrie or JJ Hardy when they were affordable, and hiring Mike Matheny.
