They could certainly be better than 2010, but it doesn't mean they'll win 11+ games with this year's schedule. No one is due anything in the NFL, but it would be pretty awesome if they could actually start 4-0, beat Brees, Manning twice, and be a home game vs Oakland away from being undefeated in the division.  |
We are due for some luck because we haven't done jack in so long. We haven't been dealt a good hand in a long time. We are due for the intangibles. It's the way the Saints and the Packers defenses played when they won Superbowls. We are coming off a season of massive injury where we still almost won the divison. This is clearly the best roster we have had since 1995. This is the best coach we have had since Vermeil.
I understand most here are watching the preseason at face value. There is a huge difference from this year to last year. We aren't killing ourselves. The coaches are killing the players and they are doing it on purpose. We will be prepared for adversity. We weren't trying to stop Jackson the other night. We weren't really blitzing. We weren't trying to run. We weren't playing man.
As for Cassel, he's getting better at making plays when they count. What I saw last week was the most improvement I have seen since he's been here. I am looking for specific things and I saw them. Mainly, he made the big play when we had to have it. He's playing loose.
