This. A player has to use the same helmet all season? Wouldn't you want players to use new helmets whenever possible, assuming they're all the right kind? A helmet is going to sustain some amount of damage from every hit. You're supposed to throw away a bike helmet any time it gets hit, even if you can't see any damage.
