Like I said, I've had several people in the room during interviews that I don't turn to for their opinion on a hire. Those people are there for informational purposes. Its not dissimilar from a standard ol' business deal - I want people in the room that can answer questions before I ultimately make a decision.
He was there - that's all we know. That, in a vacuum, means absolutely nothing. If I'm Clark and I've chosen this route, then I'd have had him in there as well. If nothing else, an extra voice will often get me to look at a different angle or provide an idea for an additional question/comment.
Don't panic just yet. There will be plenty of time for that later.
