It'll go away. I've had a Viera for 3 or 4 years now and you know I play vidja games. A LOT. You also know vidja games have A LOT of static images (HUD). There has not been any permanent damage yet.
You're going to love this TV. Can't get those legit blacks anywhere else outside of a CRT and those don't even exist any more.
