People keep a round chambered? I do in my pistols, but not in the shotgun.
I also keep it next to a Fenix LD20 light in case there's no power or time.

I don't keep a round chambered in the XD45, but it does have a full magazine in it. The loaded revolver is ready to go though. Have been thinking about putting my flashlight in the safe too. It's close enough that I could get to it quickly, but it may be better in the safe
. Have kids, so I figure hopefully they aren't strong enough to chamber one in the XD, if they get the revolver, well it's pretty much point and shoot at that point so hopefully I don't ever leave the safe open accidentally.
