He had a chance at being a starter here? You're one of the more naive posters so it's easy to see how you think Cassel would be benched but in reality that's simply not the case.

The fact is Pioli has never brought in competition against Cassel. Dallas offered Orton a nice contract but the Chiefs had more caproom theres no way Orton would have turned down more money to stay here.

The fact is Cassel could/should have been benched 2 out of the 3 seasons he's played here and never has. He's Pioli's boy. You're living in a fantasy world if you think Pioli will bench Cassel.
