Going into prevent prevents wins. But on the other hand, the defense gives up 13 points and 166 yards? How on earth do you lose a game like that?
Here's how: You get the ball to the 10 yard line with time on the clock at the end of the first half and come away with nothing; You turn the ball over twice in the second half; You have the ball 9 times in Oakland territory but only score 10 points.
We don't give two shits about Oakland marching down the field in the final two minutes if the score is 16-6 like it should have been. We utterly dominated that game. The difference in the game was that the offense made two major mistakes in the red zone. That's at least 6 points off the board, and potentially 10.
Does that excuse the defense for being easier to score on late than a thai hooker? No. But execution was a bigger issue elsewhere.
