Not the first injury, either. Gators have 5 opening day starters who are out for the season, if I'm recalling correctly what I saw yesterday. That includes its best defensive tackle, starting quarterback and starting running back. A true freshman RB (son of Fred Taylor) is expected to get a large portion of the carries.
Ron Powell, Florida's best defensive end, is also questionable with a bad ankle.
My point: Florida isn't exactly at full strength, either.

The key is Mauk's ability to make some plays
and not turn the ball over. The reality is none of us really know what's going to happen w/ him as we haven't seen enough to know if he's ready for this moment or not. It would be more than understandable if he struggles regardless of how good he may ultimately be.
