I know that it has already been said...but you get what you pay for. I have 5 friends who starting teaching right after college. Only one of them is still a teacher. The rest all left for higher paying jobs. Few people have the dedication to stay a teacher, especially when the pay is so low compared to the other opportunities in today's booming economy.
I do think that the standards have dropped considerably for teachers but in a free market economy... if you want better people than you have to be willing to pay for them. Right now, states aren't willing to pay for them and we are lucky to have a few that are good, work hard and stick with the profession because of their convictions and ideals. Personally, I don't understand it... but I guess the world needs suckers too. [img]http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/smile.gif[/img]
